Sarris Candies: We Will Reopen on March 1

The ice cream parlor remains closed until May, though.

An update on the Sarris Candies website revealed on Saturday that the Canonsburg Borough candy shop will reopen on March 1.

"On Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, Sarris Candies suffered a fire to a portion of our facility," the statement reads, "resulting in the subsequent but temporary closure of the Canonsburg retail store and ice cream parlor.

"Although the ice cream parlor will remain closed until May, we are proud to announce the reopening of our candy store on Thursday, March 1."

The reopening date coincides with the second anniversary of the death of the company's founder, Frank Sarris. 

"In his honor ... ," the statement continues, "the Sarris family and all Sarris employees will reopen the retail store in celebration of his passion for chocolate and his love of serving his customers."
