ReplyI totally agree with NE12Ukid...if there is a need to get clerical work done - then it should be done before or after school - why should learning time be taken away from the children??? If there is a need for training to be done - it needs to be done on the already too many days off that the kids currently have. There are already scheduled professional development/clerical days. Why inconvenience the parents with 2 hour delays, delays are very difficult for working parents, not to mention it really throws the kids off with their learning for the day. I think people need to remember why schools are here....it is for the CHILDREN to LEARN...not see how much extra time the teachers can get to get their day to day job duties done when the students are not there. Do it at home like many teachers use to do and still do. You make enough money that you can put in some extra time outside of the building like many of other professional employees do on a daily basis.

ReplyAmen to that Lori!!! And sounds like his mom finally wised up and kicked him out of her home. I mean something needed to be done - for him to have been arrested how many times in the past few months and to continue to do it. Glad to see that bail was raised from pennies to something that will hopefully keep him in jail until he is sentenced.

ReplyExactly my point previously....and there is a postponement before even being waived to town. How do we sleep and feel safe when we have children in this neighborhood and there was a weapons charge. I called Baldwin Police Department to ask for extra patrolling in the neighborhood and have not heard back from them...he has done this stuff in the daylight!!!!!!!!!!!

ReplyNo we are NOT happy about this...nor are we able to sleep at night knowing he is out of jail...and there is a weapons charge...come on we are supposed to feel safe. It will go to the magestrate tomorrow then will be waived for court in town - so he will be out until the hearing and we all know there will be one postponement after another

ReplyI think it is very sad to see positions eliminated when there are promotions under the same section. Especially when they just moved principals to the admin building from these schools - promoted the vice principals to principals and now adding two more vice principals - when these positions are very high paid positions
