ReplyI hope Emmy is found soon. However, looking at her photo I notice a chock chain around her neck, I hate to see those on dogs.

On the article Zoo Tragedy: Painted Dogs that Mauled Child Won't Be Euthanized. Should Outdoor Exhibit Be Changed?

ReplyMy prayers are for little Maddox, his Mom, Dad and family. Mom, Dad and family are suffering and are heartbroken and I wish them peace as difficult as it may be.
God has a new Angel in Heaven. If anyone knows this family, please surround them with love and compassion; they need it now more than ever.I have an issue with Baker the CEO of the Zoo. I watched her on TV and she said personnel were there in seconds but it was too dangerous for them to do anything. Really? Shouldn't the Zoo be equipped to handle a horrific situation such as this? In this horrific situation personnel should have been armed to shoot these dogs to try and save him. Witnesses have said it took 5 or more minutes before the police arrived to shoot the one dog that wouldn't go away from the child. These dogs may be endangered specie, however, they are NOT more important than a human life ever!
Peace and prayers also to the witnesses, police, personnel and anyone else that may have been there during this tragedy.

ReplyI can't get my mind around the thought that Mike McQueary witnessed a young child being molested by Sandusky and didn't grab that child and safely take him to the police station after he knocked out Sandusky's lights. He abetted this horrific crime!
He too should lose his pension! -

It was Paterno's idea to remove the players name from the uniforms ... I say put them back on. These players need to be recognozed by their name not a number.

Paterno did nothing to stop it! According to the Freeh report Paterno knew since 1998. Imagine the number of children that could have been saved from that monster Sandusky. Paterno's family and close friend Franco Harris say they knew Joe ... well family and friends do not know what goes on in a person's mind. Sad that children suffered because of football. I think the quote below is appropriate.
"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)

ReplyThe problem with the texting ban is the fine isn't high enough. Parents with entitled teens will pay for the offense. Fifty dollars will not deter anyone from texting while driving.

Patty, I'm glad you mentioned street lights. I would love to see street lights, it makes for a safer community. Actually, about 8 years ago there was an article in the P-G about keeping your porch or lawn light on during the night for a particular event that is celebrated every summer. The name of the event escapes me. One of the members of board in Whitehall wrote an aritcle about the event saying it makes for a safer community and I agree.
I wrote to the mayor suggesting such an ordinance for Whitehall, however, he never gave me the courtesy of responding to my letter.
