PHOTOS/RECAP: Baldwin Hockey Outshoots but Loses to Indiana at Penguins Pond, 4-2

Baldwin High School's varsity defenseman Max Milan scored a shorthanded goal with 3 minutes, 22 seconds left in the third period to narrow Indiana Area High School's lead to 3-2 in the teams' outdoor ice hockey game at Penguins Pond at Highmark Stadium on Monday. But Indiana's forward Camden Lydick put the Highlanders away with an empty-net goal with four seconds left, snapping Baldwin's four-game unbeaten streak with a 4-2 defeat. Highlanders Hockey to Play in Outdoor Stadium Monday

The game (FREE ADMISSION) will be held in Station Square's new Penguins Pond at Highmark Stadium at 5 p.m.

Monday's forecast calls for a high of 33 degrees and little-to-no chance of snow, which sounds pretty much like perfect conditions for an outdoor ice hockey game. And it just so happens that Baldwin High School will play Indiana Area High School that day at Station Square's new Penguins Pond at Highmark Stadium. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 5 p.m., and admission for this special event is FREE. The outdoor game will count in the standings for both Indiana and Baldwin, which compete in the PIHL's Open Class. Before a Friday night game against Keystone Oaks High School, Baldwin is undefeated in its past three contests by a combined 27-5 score and is 6-2-1 overall, good for second place in Section 4. A Look at Area Malls' Hours Through New Year's Day 2013

Some malls have special hours to accommodate returns and sales.

To accommodate seasonal sales and the returns of items purchased, many Pittsburgh-area shopping malls will have special hours of operation for the week following Christmas Day, while some malls will simply revert back to their normal schedules. See below for a list of area malls and their hours from Dec. 26 through Jan. 1. Also, see if those malls will keep their children's ride-along trains up after Christmas. Baldwin H.S. Grad Wins Golden Quill Award

Peters Patch Editor Andrea Bosco, originally of Whitehall, took first place for online spot/breaking news.

Peters Patch Editor Andrea Bosco, a 2006 graduate of Baldwin High School, earned a Golden Quill Award for online spot/breaking news at a 48th Annual Golden Quill Awards ceremony held at the Sheraton Hotel in Pittsburgh's Station Square on Monday night. Zandy Dudiak, associate regional editor for Western Pennsylvania Patch Region 2, and freelance writer/photographer Sarah Klingler also contributed to Bosco's winning story: "Woman Dies at Hospital Following Standoff with Police." Bosco grew up on Azalea Drive in Whitehall Borough and attended St. Gabriel of the Sorrowful Virgin School from kindergarten through fourth grade.
