But Baldwin Borough and Baldwin Township supported Barack Obama.
Democrat Barack Obama won the national vote on Tuesday, and he won in Pennsylvania. But, if Whitehall Borough alone decided the presidency of the United States, Republican Mitt Romney would be the winner. According to unofficial results from the Allegheny County Division of Elections, Romney gained 130 more votes in Whitehall than President Obama did. Fifty-two people in Whitehall voted for Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party, 16 voted for Jill Stein of the Green Party, and 17 wrote another name in. The results in Baldwin Borough and Baldwin Township, however, were in Obama's favor. The Democrat thanks supporters for helping her to defeat Republican Chris Cratsley.
Democrat Erin Molchany delivered a victory speech to an intimate group of supporters at Redbeard's Bar & Grill in Pittsburgh's Mount Washington neighborhood on Tuesday night. After winning her party's nomination in April for Pennsylvania's 22nd House District seat by defeating current state Rep. Martin Michael Schmotzer, Molchany had a much easier time in bettering Republican nominee Chris Cratsley in this November's general election. Just 40 minutes after polls closed in Allegheny County on Tuesday, Molchany's campaign office issued a news release declaring a win over Cratsley in the Democrat-heavy 22nd District. And about one hour later, she appeared at Redbeard's to thank her closest supporters. Watch the video above to hear part of …

Matt Smith defeated D. Raja for Pennsylvania State Senate with 53% of the vote.
Matt Smith bear hugged supporters and feverishly pumped hit arms in the air moments after learning he had won election to the Pennsylvania State Senate. The normally subdued 3-term state representative showed more emotion than usual after a hard-fought battle against fellow Mt. Lebanon resident D. Raja. Smith takes over the seat formerly held by John Pippy. The district wraps around the South Hills of Pittsburgh from Peters Township up to Findlay. “When you have a message that resonates, then that will trump money every day of the week,” Smith said about being outspent 3-to-1 on the airwaves. “The message we have is resonating with people.” Smith, standing with his wife, Eileen, and three young children, Delaney, Emerson and Jameson, …
