Probation?!? What about the rights of the car owner, what break did they get? Cleaning up and paying for the damage the would-be-thief made! Community service and restitution should have been ordered!! We law-abiding residents who PAY with our hard earned money for our vehicles and insurance deserve better! The police did their job, it's about time the magistrate does theirs!   more ›

Whitehall Police Investigating Front-Porch Pranks

And an assault arrest to report in these Whitehall Borough police notes.

Dangerous Prank Whitehall Borough police went to the 100 block of Felix Drive at around 8:41 p.m. on Saturday in response to a complaint of a loud bang and smoke coming from a resident's porch there. Whitehall police Chief Donald R. Dolfi said that, when officers arrived, they found a 2-liter bottle partially filled with some type of liquid on the porch, as well as aluminum foil. The device acted as a type of homemade explosive, he said. Although nobody was injured in the incident, Dolfi said that the event, which appears to have been a prank, is very dangerous. :) That or science class. I know we learned a number of fun chemical reactions there. The problem, of course, as any kid who's messed with pyrotechnics knows, is that it's easy to make a big explosion and more difficult to make a small one.   more ›
