Bryan Lijewski faces one felony charge and nine misdemeanors.
Baldwin Borough police have charged Bryan Robert Lijewski, 30, with one felony and nine misdemeanors stemming from their appearance at Lijewski's home on Elmwood Drive in central Baldwin on Feb. 10, according to an online docket sheet. Police went to Lijewski's home at 5147 Elmwood at around 4 a.m. that day in response to a domestic disturbance involving a female resident who told police that her boyfriend, who also lives at the home, was holding a gun and was threatening to harm himself, Allegheny County police Superintendent Charles Moffatt said at a news conference later that day. The incident resulted in the injury of Baldwin Borough police Sgt. Ralph Miller, who was shot twice in the hip/lower back area by a fellow Baldwin officer …

Whitehall Borough police stories from this past week.
Heroin Found by K-9 on Spring Valley Drive A Whitehall Borough police officer monitoring traffic in the 5300 block of Spring Valley Drive stopped a vehicle for speeding at around 9:55 a.m. on Monday, Whitehall police Chief Donald R. Dolfi said. As the officer interacted with the speeding driver—Paul Howard Schuetz, 29, of 243 Whitehaven Dr. in Richland Township—Schuetz appeared nervous and fidgety, Dolfi said. The officer then noticed an orange needle cap beneath Schuetz's seat, which he reported that Schuetz was trying to conceal. Unluckily for Schuetz, the officer had a K-9 unit available and used the dog to search for and locate heroin and drug paraphernalia in Schuetz's vehicle. Schuetz has been charged with possession of a controlled …

With Friends like These … Whitehall Borough police officers went to check on the welfare of a Bevan Apartments resident at around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday only to discover that the resident was actually worried about the safety of her friend, who was not there. Whitehall police Chief Donald R. Dolfi said that the resident told the officers that she and a friend had gotten into a verbal argument earlier that night before the friend left the apartment. The resident told officers that she was concerned about her friend's state of mind. The officers obtained a description of the friend, searched the surrounding area and eventually found her. But upon talking with the friend, they learned that the argument had actually gotten physical, Dolfi …

And other Whitehall police notes from July 31-Aug. 6.
Police Surveillance Leads to Drug Bust on Bel Air Drive Patience paid off for members of the Whitehall Police Department on July 31. Officers, according to Whitehall Borough police Chief Donald R. Dolfi, had been involved in an "ongoing investigation" of 3197 Bel Air Dr. for some time regarding possible drug activity there before executing a search warrant on the home at around 11:45 a.m. that day. The officers, acting on information given to them by concerned residents of the immediate area, had been conducting surveillance on a resident of that address, Dolfi said. When the officers finally entered 3197 Bel Air on July 31, they discovered three people inside, approximately a half-pound of marijuana and some related drug paraphernalia, …

Injured Man, Fight, Warrant Out As the annual Caste Village fireworks show was wrapping up in Whitehall Borough at around 10 p.m. on Friday, a collection of Whitehall police officers received a report of an injured male lying on the ground in the main Caste parking lot. Officers found the male, who had recently received a blow to his mouth area, Whitehall police Chief Donald R. Dolfi said. Police called medics to the scene and cleared the area to treat the victim. The officers interviewed witnesses and were pointed to the direction that the attacker fled after allegedly striking the victim from his rear, blind side. Witnesses knew the attacker by name. As officers began to head in that direction, another male arrived at the scene and …
