Shop 'n Save Offers 20-Cent Pump Perks

The promotion comes at the same time as Giant Eagle's.

One day after Giant Eagle officials announced a 20-cent fuelperks! promotion, Shop 'n Save officials contacted Patch to tell us about their stores' 20-cent Pump Perks happening during the same time duration. Shop 'n Save shoppers will receive 20 cents off per gallon of gas for every $50 that they spend on groceries from May 16 through 29. The limited time promotion aims to double customers' savings at the pump in advance of one of the busiest travel weekends of the year. According to TripAdvisor's 2013 Summer Travel Survey, one out every three people will drive between 100 and 200 miles to reach their destination this Memorial Day weekend. "This is the time when people are gearing up for long trips and when gas prices tend to rise, as well…

The diet changes go beyond bread, however, and depend on family tradition. As a general rule, just look for the "Kosher for Passover" label, which, thankfully, spreads to more products year after year. Prior to the observance, Jews clean their homes and get rid …

Common Sense - The bidding for this project was open to all companies including any that were in the local area. Local companies were able to submit bids just like any other company. State law requires open bidding for a project of this size and once the bids are open, they are final. There is no such thing as opening a bid and then sharing that with another company so that they can match it or …   more ›

Car Flips into Baldwin Shop 'n Save Parking Lot

Investigation ongoing to determine if the driver was impaired.

Three men were taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital early on Sunday morning after their car went over a guardrail, into a utility pole, flipped and landed in the Shop 'n Save parking lot along Joseph Street in north Baldwin Borough. Baldwin police Chief Michael Scott said that he does not know if the driver was impaired when he failed to negotiate a hard left bend while coming down the hilly Joseph Street between Steiner and John streets shortly before 2 a.m. The grocery store was closed at the time, and no other people are believed to be injured as a result of the crash. And the three men, amazingly, did not suffer life-threatening injuries, Scott said. Two of the men were able to free themselves from the vehicle, but emergency crews had to cut …
