Critz defeats Altmire in congressional race, Raja wins bitter contest with Mustio for state senate.
Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney had little trouble winning the Pennsylvania Republican primary for President of the United States, and his closest competitor was a man who is no longer in the race. Romney finished with 57-percent of the vote, followed by former Sen. Rick Santorum at 19-percent. Santorum withdrew from the race earlier this month. Texas Congressman Ron Paul finished third with 13 percent and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was last with 11-percent of the vote. In the race for U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania, incumbent Bob Casey of Lackawanna County easily defeated Joseph Vodvarka of Robinson Township, Allegheny County, by a four to one margin in the Democratic primary. Vodvarka who spent the evening with his …
'They pay us so much to be here, and we're not doing anything.' - St. Gabriel's poll worker
Poll workers from around Baldwin-Whitehall have often been left bored today by low voter turnout for the April 24 primary election. The Baldwin Borough Municipal Complex in the northern part of that municipality seemed like a ghost town at times with no campaign signs planted in the ground there at around 3:45 p.m. And seats lined up to control crowd flow were empty. "Voter apathy" was the way that one poll worker at the municipal complex described the scene, saying that he doesn't expect traffic to pick up any more today, even after most voters finish their workdays. Another worker at the complex attributed the low voter turnout to a lack of competition for many local races, as well as the national race for the U.S. presidency. He said …

The former PA senator captured 55 percent of the vote in Missouri to Mitt Romney's 25 percent.
The Huffington Post reports that Tuesday was a bad night for Mitt Romney, as former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum swept Missouri, Minnesota and Colorado in Republican presidential primaries. Santorum won Missouri and Minnesota by large margins, capturing 55 percent of the vote in Missouri to Romney's 25 percent. Santorum also won Minnesota—a state that Romney won in the 2008 primaries—by capturing 45 percent of the vote there. Santorum won all 114 Missouri counties. "Conservatism is alive in Missouri and Minnesota," Santorum told a crowd attending his victory party at the Saint Charles Convention Center in St. Charles, MO. "I hope you have been listening to our message," he said in his victory speech. "Mitt Romney has the same positions …
