Brentwood Woman Charged with Spitting, Urinating in Whitehall Police Holding Cell

She was pulled over for erratic driving on Route 51.

A Brentwood Borough woman is in the Allegheny County Jail on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, aggravated harassment by a prisoner and institutional vandalism following an arrest on Route 51 on Monday night. Jenna Rose Difrancesco, 28, of 105 Kaplan Ave., was stopped by a Whitehall Borough police officer between Stewart Avenue and Greenlee Road at around 9:10 that night for erratic driving, Whitehall police Deputy Chief Richard M. Danko said. As the officer approached Difrancesco's vehicle, he smelled alcohol coming from her, Danko said, and put her through field-sobriety tests, which she failed, before arresting her. Two Whitehall Police Officers Injured During Altercation

Two Officers Injured Two Whitehall Borough police officers were injured while trying to arrest a man for marijuana possession in the Wallace (Prospect) Park area at around 1:44 a.m. on Sunday, Whitehall police Deputy Chief Richard M. Danko said. The officers were responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle pulling into the rear of the 1550 Radford Rd. apartments building, and upon investigating, the officers came across Kenneth Charles Benzo, 27, who lives at 1 Palisades Plaza, Apt. B4, in Rankin Borough. Benzo was in possession of a small amount of marijuana, Danko said. Benzo tried to run from the officers. Man Chases People with Fire Extinguisher in Whitehall

Police are unaware of the Prospect Park resident's motive.

Whitehall Borough police officers had their hands full with a man who reportedly chased people around his apartments complex with a fire extinguisher on Wednesday, Whitehall police Chief Donald R. Dolfi said. Jaga Upreti, 26, of 1620 Skyline Dr., Apt. 3, in the Whitehall Place Apartments complex of the Wallace (Prospect) Park area, has been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, tampering with a fire apparatus, resisting arrest, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct in connection with the incident. Local Connection: Two Arrested for Overnight Burglary in Brookline

The same man arrested for burglarizing the Baldwin Boro police chief a year ago tries again on the same street.

If at first you don't succeed ... Try the exact same thing again? Two men were arrested early Tuesday morning after they broke into a house in the 1400 block of Woodbourne Avenue in Pittsburgh's Brookline neighborhood. Pittsburgh police officers were dispatched to the Woodbourne house just before 2 a.m. for a report of a burglary in progress. One of the men arrested—George Joseph Assenat, 33, of Pittsburgh's Carrick neighborhood—is the same person who was arrested in June 2011 for breaking into a house owned by Baldwin Borough police Chief Michael Scott and trying to steal copper piping from it. Search Warrant Leads to Marijuana Bust at Prospect Apartment Whitehall Borough police officers who went into 1821 Skyline Dr., Apt. 21, with a search warrant at around 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 28 reported finding over a half-pound of marijuana and an assortment of drug paraphernalia there, according to Whitehall police Deputy Chief Richard M. Danko. The officers obtained a warrant for the Wallace (Prospect) Park-area apartment based on an ongoing investigation regarding drug sales originating from the residence, Danko said. Among the paraphernalia that the officers found were digital scales, smoking pipes, packaging material, U.S. currency stored inside of a plastic container, and a marijuana grinder. Agree. The last time there was a drug bust by Whitehall a few people were upset over the drug bust, as they said the cops should be doing other things besides looking for pot smokers. The more drugs they take away though drug bust the better the community is.   more ›

Three DUI Arrests in Baldwin Township

Incidents include a Whitehall man charged with resisting arrest in ALDI parking lot.

ALDI Parking Lot Arrest Baldwin Township police arrested Jeffrey Marston, 21, of Frich Drive in Whitehall Borough, at around 3:01 a.m. on March 18 on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. UPDATES: The resisting arrest charge was withdrawn on May 15, and the disorderly conduct charge was withdrawn on Aug. 24. Martson was behind the driver's wheel of a running vehicle in the ALDI parking lot at the intersection of McNeilly Road and Sussex Avenue that morning, police records show, when an officer reported smelling alcohol coming from the vehicle. Update on Man Who Climbed onto Roof in Whitehall After Police Chase

Jonathan Plack, 30, is charged with burglary, theft, resisting arrest and more.

Jonathan Patrick Plack, 30, whom the Whitehall Police Department reported as running from police in the Caste Village parking lot and onto the roof of a nearby Whitehall Borough home on Nov. 3, will face a pretrial conference at the Allegheny County Courthouse on Feb. 17. (UPDATE: Next is a July 9 plea hearing.) (UPDATE: Next is sentencing on Dec. 4.) Plack, of 406 Meeting House Road in South Fayette Township, had a formal arraignment at the county courthouse on Wednesday, the result of which led to the pre-trial conference. Multiple Charges for Teen Who Ran from Police During High School Football Game Whitehall Borough police officers attempted to escort an 18-year-old man—Ryan Anthony Douglas, of 1249 Lebanon School Road in West Mifflin Borough—from Baldwin High School Stadium on Friday, Nov. 11, at around 9:45 p.m. after observing that Douglas was showing signs of intoxication. Douglas was at the stadium to watch a WPIAL football playoffs game between Montour and West Mifflin Area high schools. Whitehall police report that Douglas ran from them and then resisted arrest after police officers caught up to him. He is being charged with resisting arrest, underage drinking, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Suspect in Azalea Drive Burglaries Climbs onto Roof on Grove Road Whitehall Police Department officer Brett Newbould, who, earlier in 2011, was credited by Deputy Chief Richard M. Danko with uncovering those believed to be behind a string of break-ins at the South Hills Country Club, received another pat on the back from Danko on Tuesday.
