Fireworks Show at Caste Village Will Proceed Despite Weather

Rain and storms passing over Whitehall Borough will not cancel Friday's fireworks show.

Despite rain and storms that passed through Whitehall Borough on Friday night, the 2012 fireworks show at Caste Village will go on as planned. Officials from Pyrotecnico, The Royal Mile Company and the Whitehall Fire Company said that they see no reason as to why the show should be canceled or postponed. 2012 Caste Village Fireworks Info

Independence Day celebration begins at 5 p.m. on Friday. Fireworks expected at 9:30.

One of the best yearly attractions in Pittsburgh's South Hills area returns this Friday when Caste Village in Whitehall Borough hosts another Independence Day celebration, starting at 5 p.m. Most Caste stores will be open during the celebration to sell food, refreshments and other goods, including Frisch's Restaurant with its famous service line, Julie's Treats with its candy and ice cream, and many, many others. Of course, the event also includes Caste Village's renowned free fireworks show, which is expected to start at around 9:30 p.m. Pyrotecnico has the fireworks honors this year. Musical entertainment will also be provided all night long, including a disc jockey from 5-7 and a live band from 7-9. As usual, area drivers should expect …

Friends and neighbors from across Baldwin Borough and its surrounding municipalities descended on Churchview Avenue and the Baldwin Borough Municipal Complex on Saturday for the 2012 version of Baldwin Community Day. The daylong event—booths opened at 7 a.m., and fireworks went off at around 10 p.m.—featured the annual Baldwin Mile race, community parade down Churchview, free swimming at the Baldwin Borough Swimming Pool, food, amusement rides and a horde of other activities and performances to allow a large part of Pittsburgh's South Hills area to display some civic pride. cc, I'm sorry that this happened to you and your family. There are people out there that don't care about anyone but themselves. People shouldn't park in handicap spots unless they have a handicap tag or plaque. I wish they would of towed the cars for your sake so you and your family could of enjoyed the day.   more ›
