Baldwin Boro Seeking New Animal Control Services

New Animal Control Services? The Baldwin Borough Council received just one bidder each of the last two times that it requested proposals for animal control services, and both times, they were from the same company. Now, that company—Triangle Pet Control Services—has been shut down by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture for allegedly defrauding the state by getting paid for services that it didn't perform, leaving Baldwin Borough without a company to collect stray animals. But borough Manager John Barrett said at borough council meeting on Tuesday night that he is researching possible successors to Triangle Pet Control to cover Baldwin in 2013. Triangle Pet Control Services Contract Ended By a unanimous vote on Tuesday night, the Baldwin Council officially ended Baldwin Borough's contract with Triangle Pet Control Services, which was shut down by officials from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture on Oct. 1 after it allegedly defrauded the state by getting paid for services that it didn't perform. Baldwin Borough has been without animal control services throughout October as a result of the shutdown. Baldwin Boro Minus Animal Control After 3rd-Party Reimbursement Scheme

State police say that the owner of a kennel in McKees Rocks overcharged the state by seeking reimbursement for housing and euthanizing stray dogs that didn't exist.

Baldwin Borough is without animal control services after officials from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture shut down Triangle Pet Control Services in McKees Rocks Borough on Monday. According to a KDKA report, the kennel was forced to close because it allegedly defrauded the state by getting paid for services that it didn't perform. According to a report on the Robinson-Moon Patch, Pennsylvania State police have charged the kennel's owner, Kennedy Township resident Berard Dudash, with theft and tampering with public records, claiming that he overcharged the state by more than $37,000 for housing and destroying stray dogs at Triangle Pet Control.
