As the Friends of the Whitehall Public Library celebrate their 50th anniversary, they have much to be proud of. Ranked among the top 25 libraries in Pennsylvania, this educational powerhouse offers daily programs for people all ages, from birth to seniors
Last night, in a small presentation before a library board meeting, members of the Friends of the Whitehall Public Library were presented new leaves for their Giving Tree, in commemoration of their golden anniversary. The "Giving Tree," a painting by local artist Lynne Mack, frames a fireplace in front of a sitting area with comfortable couches and newspapers where you can find people like Borough of Whitehall resident Nicholas A. Mamula. "I use the library to read the latest issue of The New York Times," says Mamula, "for the latest books and to get my e-mail." All meetings will be held at the municipal complex on Borough Park Drive.
Whitehall Borough officials have announced the dates and times for their 2011 borough meetings, including regular council, planning commission, zoning hearing board, recreation board and library board. The Civil Service Commission and the Uniform Construction Code Appeals Board will meet as needed. Dates and times for those meetings will be announced. All meetings will be held at the Borough of Whitehall Municipal Complex on Borough Park Drive. All meetings will be held at the municipal complex on Churchview Avenue, except library board meetings at Wallace Building on Macek Drive.
