Dick's Sporting Goods will open its relocated store this week at the site of a former Boscov's at South Hills Village. The new store will open its doors on Wednesday at 9 a.m. and officially celebrate its launch with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday at 8 a.m. Special extended store hours will also be in effect for Friday (8 a.m. to 10 p.m.), Saturday (8 a.m. to 10 p.m.) and Sunday (9 a.m. to 8 p.m.). A variety of athletes are scheduled to appear at the new Dick's this week, and giveaways are also scheduled in order to celebrate the store relocation. High school football fans in western Pennsylvania have spoken, and the winner of the 2011 WPXI Wendy's Skylights Player of the Year award is Baldwin High School junior running back Dorian Brown. Each of this year's WPXI Player of the Week winners were invited to the news station's studio in Pittsburgh's Summer Hill neighborhood on Friday for a taping of the Jerome Bettis Show, which will air on WPXI at 7 p.m. on Saturday. The Baldwin-Whitehall Patch attended the taping and got an inside look at the filiming of the show, which included an award presentation for Brown, who earned the most fan votes.
