Underage DUI on Route 51; Broken Windshield on Macassar

Underage DUI, Open Alcohol on Route 51 A Baldwin Borough police officer stopped a motorist at around 11:46 p.m. on July 4 for erratic driving on Baldwin's portion of Route 51 between Streets Run Road and the Route 51 cloverleaf. The driver—Jacob Petrovich, 20, of Peterson Drive in Jefferson Hills Borough—told the officer that he was trying to avoid potholes, according to a police report. The officer smelled alcohol coming from Petrovich and put him through field-sobriety and breath-analyzer tests, which he failed, before arresting him and charging him with suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol (underage).
