Vehicle Window Smashed on South Passage Drive

And three other stories in these Whitehall Borough police notes.

Window Smashed A Whitehall Borough resident from the 5000 block of South Passage Drive contacted police at around 7 a.m. on Feb. 26 to report that a rear window of his van had been smashed out. The incident occurred sometime after 7 the previous night while it was parked in the victim's driveway, Whitehall police Chief Donald R. Dolfi said. Police checked in and around the van in an attempt to find an object that could have been used to do the damage, but nothing was found. Nothing was stolen from the van, and the victim could not think of why anyone would target him. "It appears to be an isolated incident," Dolfi said. Man Charged with Stealing Woman's Underwear, Socks in Whitehall

Jozo Grgic told a judge the story, police Deputy Chief Richard Danko said.

In a classic case of putting your foot in your mouth, Whitehall Borough police are charging Jozo Grgic, 52, of Whitehall, with theft, harassment and creating a false fire alarm after Grgic admitted to stealing a woman's underwear and socks in the Wallace (Prospect) Park area, Whitehall police Deputy Chief Richard M. Danko said. While appearing as a defendant during a Jan. 16 summary trial related to a separate harassment case involving the same woman, Grgic, who lives at 1651 Skyline Dr., Apt. 24, said in front of District Magistrate David J. Barton that he pulled a fire alarm at 1651 Skyline on Dec. 24 so that people would leave that building in order for him to steal items that the woman had left in its laundry room, according to Danko. …

10-Year-Old Burglarizes Whitehall Apartment

And four other stories in these borough police notes.

10-Year-Old Burglar Whitehall police Deputy Chief Richard M. Danko said that a 10-year-old boy is to blame for burglarizing an apartment in the 1600 block of Skyline Drive in Whitehall Borough's Wallace (Prospect) Park area. Police went to that residence at around 9:39 p.m. on Friday to find glass from a broken window on the apartment's floor and its tenant complaining that some Xbox gaming equipment had been stolen. Police investigated the theft in that immediate area, conducted interviews and determined that the 10-year-old, who lives on nearby Parkline Drive, was to blame. The stolen items were returned to their owner that same night, and because of the boy's age, Danko said, no juvenile allegations will be filed against him. Teen …

Dolfi said. When the officer arrived, he was greeted by the victim, who said that a woman trying to solicit money from him for a family fundraiser had struck him after he refused to participate in her fundraiser. The man said that he was approached by this same woman—Lucy Marie Husser, 54, of 5115 Union Ave. in Union Township—at Princess Lanes about one week prior with the same request and refused to participate then, as well. Whitehall Borough police stories from this past week.

Heroin Found by K-9 on Spring Valley Drive A Whitehall Borough police officer monitoring traffic in the 5300 block of Spring Valley Drive stopped a vehicle for speeding at around 9:55 a.m. on Monday, Whitehall police Chief Donald R. Dolfi said. As the officer interacted with the speeding driver—Paul Howard Schuetz, 29, of 243 Whitehaven Dr. in Richland Township—Schuetz appeared nervous and fidgety, Dolfi said. The officer then noticed an orange needle cap beneath Schuetz's seat, which he reported that Schuetz was trying to conceal. Unluckily for Schuetz, the officer had a K-9 unit available and used the dog to search for and locate heroin and drug paraphernalia in Schuetz's vehicle.
