EXTENDED: Streets Run Road Drainage Work

The work will run from Delwar Road to the Glenwood Interchange area.

Crews from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 11-0 will cause temporary lane closures and restrictions for drainage improvements across a large part of Streets Run Road. The work, which will run from Delwar Road in West Mifflin Borough to the Glenwood Interchange area on the border of north Baldwin Borough and Pittsburgh's Hays neighborhood, will last from Jan. 28 to Feb. 15, at the least. That is an approximately 2-mile stretch. (UPDATE: Work extended to Feb. 19-22.) Motorists are advised to use caution, slow down and expect changing traffic patterns when traveling through the work area. Streets Run Road Milling Begins Tuesday

The work will run from Delwar Road to the Glenwood Interchange area.

Crews from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 11-0 will cause temporary lane closures and restrictions for milling work across a large part of Streets Run Road. The milling, which will run from Delwar Road in West Mifflin Borough to the Glenwood Interchange area on the border of north Baldwin Borough and Pittsburgh's Hays neighborhood, will last from Jan. 22 to 25, at the least. That is an approximately 2-mile stretch. Milling occurs when an existing road surface is removed, exposing the road's base. Motorists are advised to use caution, slow down and expect changing traffic patterns when traveling through the work area. I am completely baffled by this. It was paved only a couple of years ago and is probably one of the better surfaces around the area not counting a few places where the water company dug up. I guess pen dot had some money to waste since they don't spend money on salting it when it snows.   more ›

North Baldwin travelers beware.

Crews from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 11-0 will cause single-lane closures (as needed) on Route 885 in the Glenwood Interchange area from 8 p.m. on Friday to 8 a.m. on Saturday in order to repair a bridge, weather permitting. That bridge carries Route 885 over the ramp that connects westbound Route 837 (Riverton Street) to East Carson Street on the border of north Baldwin Borough and Pittsburgh's Hays and New Homestead neighborhoods. PennDOT's crews will be repairing holes in the bridge deck, and while work occurs on the overhead bridge, the ramp beneath the structure that connects westbound Route 837 to East Carson Street will be closed. Glass Run-Glenwood Bridge Work on Tuesday

Expect changing traffic patterns when traveling through the work area near north Baldwin.

Motorists should expect temporary lane closures and restrictions on Tuesday due to overhead sign safety inspections on and near the Glenwood Bridge in Pittsburgh's Hays neighborhood, weather permitting. The short-term closures and restrictions will occur as needed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. that day on the bridge and on the various connecting ramps and roadways at the East Carson Street/Glass Run Road Glenwood Interchange (on the north Baldwin Borough border). Crews from Mackin Engineering and the SOFIS Rigging Company will conduct the work, according to a news release from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 11-0. Work will be near north Baldwin.

Lines will be painted on the bridges that carry Route 885 (Mifflin Road) over Streets Run/Baldwin Road in Pittsburgh's Hays neighborhood on Monday, June 11, weather permitting. The work will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. that day, according to a press release from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 11-0. The area of detail is just south of the Glenwood Interchange near north Baldwin Borough. Motorists should expect changing traffic patterns and possible delays in that area and allow extra time when traveling.
