REMINDER/DETAILS: 'Drop the Puck on Cancer' (Again) in Brentwood
The event, now in its second year, raised more than $53,000 in 2012.
It'll once again be a great day for hockey when residents from around Pittsburgh convene in Brentwood Borough on Saturday, March 9, for the second annual "Drop the Puck on Cancer" fundraising event that will benefit a number of South Hills families. "Drop the Puck" raised more than $53,000 this past year for the Duttine family, of Whitehall Borough, and the efforts of the late Tom Cavataio, of Brentwood. Julie Andrulonis Duttine, who grew up in Brentwood, died from cancer in December 2011, the same month that Tom Cavataio, a hockey enthusiast largely responsible for developing street hockey in Brentwood, also died from the disease. UPDATE: "Drop the Puck on Cancer" is NOT a 501(c)(3) organization, as previously reported. Nevertheless, all proceeds from the event will benefit the Duttine, Cavataio, Frey, Kenny, Winovich and Angelo families.   more ›
