It's from the information we got at church.
Ned Hardt June 18, 2013 at 03:36 pm
Sorry, got bumped off here AGAIN twice, and then Patch had that annoying error message. TheRead More information was given at church and is in the Pittsburgh Catholic, which I believe is online.
Robert Edward Healy, III (Editor) June 18, 2013 at 03:43 pm
Finally got something from the church:Read More http://baldwin-whitehall.patch.com/groups/arts-and-entertainment/p/scheduledetails-saint-albert-the-great-summer-festival-runs-through-june-22
Kevin O'Toole.
20 Year Resident of Baldwin/Whitehall June 14, 2013 at 07:22 am
I applaud Mr. O'Toole for doing the right thing. The district has a wonderful opportunity open withRead More his resignation; I hope they choose a strong, fair, and kind leader who values our kids' education to replace him.
Scott Friedman June 14, 2013 at 02:12 pm
I truly hope the choose to keep Interim Principal Mr. Wolicki! The four months I was given to get toRead More know him, he really did prove to the school that he has what it takes! And I am hoping they don't bring the guys from Harrison to the High School!
cc June 15, 2013 at 11:34 am
Couldn't be happier to see him go.
Roger Overandout June 14, 2013 at 04:25 pm
They all deserve each other :(

@BaldwinDad, we wrote three stories from this meeting that covered four topics. If we covered everyRead More last item from the meetings, we would be in the public relations business. As always, we do our best. As you've probably noticed, I've covered lots of positive news from the board meetings in the past, as well. But, there are only so many hours in the day, and often, these board meetings are chock-full of many, many topics and go on for several hours before any writing can even take place. With that said, if you'd like to see more topics covered, we offer a very healthy (and important) blogs section where community members talk about the things that interest them. You can email me at robert.healyiii@patch.com if you'd like to learn more.

Randall is a stand up guy, very glad he leads our district, even more glad my own children canRead More benefit from his commitment to the BWSD
20 Year Resident of Baldwin/Whitehall June 12, 2013 at 03:26 pm
Congratulations, Randy! He's genuinely a good man who has committed himself to this district forRead More much of his career. We're lucky to have him!
RM June 13, 2013 at 05:35 pm
congrats, every interaction I had with Randy he has shown himself to be a class act!
Sandra St.Roi May 24, 2013 at 02:32 am

You have shown us the value of hard work but more importantly the value of FAMILY! I'm so proud of you and so happy that you will get to spend LOTS of time with Dad and LOTS of time babysitting....ha! Love you!

Mrs. Leaf- Congratulations! I am so excited for you! Visiting you was one of my favorite things toRead More do at BHS. You know how to make everyone feel so special. What will the Athletic Department ever do without you? Enjoy all of your free time. You certainly deserve it!
cc May 26, 2013 at 04:23 pm
Robert it is so easy to figure out who "patch" is.
20 Year Resident of Baldwin/Whitehall May 29, 2013 at 04:06 pm
Bob, thanks for explaining the process to everyone here. It is helpful when everyone understands WHYRead More they are voting and that it doesn't end with this vote. Truly, if there were more exposure to the process, the candidates, and any upcoming events, I think there would be a better response to local elections. Thanks for doing your part to bring about that exposure.
Robert Edward Healy, III (Editor) May 29, 2013 at 04:19 pm
Our pleasure.
joe pearson May 18, 2013 at 05:38 pm
He is worse than being a clown. Hopefully, anyone who knows about him would not ever vote forRead More him. Anyone who does not know his history should do some research and find out about him. He has no business being on our school board.
cc May 18, 2013 at 10:25 pm
That is why he has a puppet Rambo running, in case he doesn't get his seat, Rambo can resign soRead More Marty can be placed back on the board.
buzzkill May 19, 2013 at 05:13 am
Doesn't look like you cc too much.
cc May 18, 2013 at 01:22 pm
Nancy is one of the best school board members and wants to see our students succeed in life. NotRead More like the other clowns on the board who only think of hiring friends and family for jobs in our district.
chris May 19, 2013 at 03:49 am
Nancy has my vote. She's there for the right reasons .
cc May 19, 2013 at 09:21 pm
Chris have to agree with you, she is one of the only members that is there for the tax payers andRead More students. She doesn't follow the head clown Marty.

Hello Bob, I was really wondering, the people that DID NOT submit their profiles are they realRead More people that live in Baldwin-Whitehall? When you called these people did you talk to a real person or get a call back? When I google them no one comes up, if they do, they are died. Can you help me? Thank you! NOTIME to waste your vote!
Robert Edward Healy, III (Editor) May 21, 2013 at 04:17 am
Thomas Barchfeld's profile is up.
Robert Edward Healy, III (Editor) May 21, 2013 at 04:21 am
Hey there, Tom. Of the six others, only two of them never spoke with me. In those cases, I leftRead More messages and/or tried listed numbers multiple times.
Vinnie May 20, 2013 at 11:45 pm
Unless that is stipulated, it is not a requirement. You may prefer it, but then, thatRead More disenfranchises an entire group of people.Renters can't sit on the school board, childless couples can't, unemployed citizens? Come on.
Vinnie May 20, 2013 at 11:47 pm
Nice polite dialogue and discussion from all of you. A true pleasure. Tomorrow decides and we moveRead More on from there.
Vinnie May 22, 2013 at 12:00 pm
Well, voters have spoken and trust the young man to send him to November. Congratulations, Elliot.
Tom Barchfeld June 9, 2013 at 07:32 am
I visited Marty Schmotzer in his Harrisburg office with a document for him to look at calledRead More Declaration to Restore the Constitutional Republic. And I asked him if he would support it. I had to go back to his office traveling to Harrisburg months later to finally get a response. He was too slow in response, so as a constituent, he was not satisfactory, and he also lied to me directly to my face. No one can trust a person who lies with intention to deceive.
Tom Barchfeld June 9, 2013 at 07:44 am
Placing out many candidate yards signs without explaining who you are is not good way to win anRead More election. I knocked on doors, and no one knew seemed to who Mr. Rambo was, because many asked me who he was.
Tom Barchfeld June 9, 2013 at 07:55 am
Yes Mr 2004 Baldwin Graduate, I have done something for the community, and not attempted to stealRead More 50K while pleading guilty to it in Federal court. I worked for the Department of Defense at a Navy base in Mechanicsburg making sure Naval ships parts got to where they needed to get to help defend this country, and this and communities along the Eastern seaboard by making sure the computer systems in Naval Data Center ran smoothly and efficiently 24/7/365. And also with overseas bases across the globe. Also I did not make Marty's negative past, Marty did. The voters need to know of his past corrupt activities to vote in an informed manner and to be allowed to decide on their own. Why don't you have the guts to you your real name in this forum, Mr. 2004 Baldwin Graduate?
Sunflower May 6, 2013 at 04:33 pm
Oh for heavens sake! Just please put a trash can at the corner of 51 and Streets Run. That cornerRead More is a shameful looking representation of Baldwin if there ever was one. Can't the residents there at least get rid of the weeds? This is something that has been bothering me for a long time. I hope something more gets done by this group other than allowing some students an opportunity to stretch their wings.
Watcher May 6, 2013 at 07:52 pm
Must be nice to live in never never land
Tyrion Lannister May 7, 2013 at 01:41 am
A whole trash can!?! That would cost the boro $9.99!!! Do you think Baldwin is made of money?!?Read More ;-)
Patty Donley April 29, 2013 at 12:13 pm
I know I'm old fashioned but I wish that wonderful, memorable moments in people's lives would notRead More become "events" for the entire world to share. To me this is a cute, fun, high school memory but once it hit Facebook it becomes a "news" item. I guess a staged, rehearsed marriage proposal is in somebody's future....but glad the girl said "yes" to the prom~
NE12Ukid April 29, 2013 at 12:37 pm
good point, Patty. But its a new world out there, there is no privacy, there are no private momentsRead More it seems. The kids involved don't know any other world, so it doesn't bother them like it would us. That said, I liked hearing that there's a nice boy with a touch of romance in him! Enjoy the prom, kids!
Paula Lim April 29, 2013 at 01:13 pm
Cute....but when my daughter ran track her date and fellow runner came up with something trulyRead More novel. He just asked her. Worked out just fine. Mr. Helbig and Mr. Wright train these kids right!
bd April 26, 2013 at 11:35 am
Sasafrass - Only when people start educating themselves about who it is they are electing to theRead More school board. I won't hold my breath for that.
Jim Sanders April 26, 2013 at 08:05 pm
Yeah Baldwin is the worst run suburban district in pittsburgh with all their principals and bogusRead More administrators. Their school board and top district administrators are ruining what was once a solid place to send your kids to school. They are a laughing stock in neighboring communities.
Brian Rampolla April 29, 2013 at 01:45 am
I agree that people must educate themselves, but that can only really start when the boardRead More candidates first educate the voters about their specific assessment of the issues facing this district and what they propose to do. One forum for this information is the League Of Women Voters who are soliciting campaign information at http://www.smartvoter.org/2013/05/21/pa/al/race/525/. I personally will not vote for anyone who will not take the time to take advantage of such opportunities to educate the voters about themselves. The same requirement for eduction applies to the district budget, and business manager Mark Cherpak should provide a specific session in which he goes over the budget line by line and gives the public a chance to ask questions. By the way, he presented Power Point slides regarding the budget status at the 4/10/13 meeting. Of course, these slides were not attached to the agenda and are not posted on the district website, but he did provide them to me in my response to my e-mail request at mcherpak@bwschools.net. I suggest everyone who wants to learn about the budget send a request to him. Maybe if he get's enough e-mails he'll post the slides to the website and conduct the meeting.

M Hardt just as i will ignore your rude comments that you post to people. ne12ukid and your manyRead More alias when did Bob point you the Sheriff of the Patch many people would love to know this answer. Please go back on your meds.
Disgusted Resident May 14, 2013 at 11:21 pm
The Baldwin-Whitehall School District has the worst superintendent in district history. The guy isRead More spineless and is a puppet to his school board. As long as we have poor leadership, do not expect the results to ever change.
Repulsed Resident May 15, 2013 at 05:03 pm
I agree with you disgusted, our district has gone to hell with Randy Lutz at the helm. It is time toRead More rethink the entire leadership of this district. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. If we continue to allow the meek lead our district, that is the definition of insanity. We need a leader, not a coward!
Michael Dobs April 23, 2013 at 08:26 pm
Sounds like a great day for all involved! Great the kids were given just another opportunity theyRead More wouldn't have had in their original country.
NE12Ukid April 24, 2013 at 12:29 am
EVERY child in our schools should visit the museum each year, even more often. But funding forRead More trips, like much else, has been cut, dried up, etc. Parents, think about this on the next Teacher Training Day or summer day that you are home with your kids---take them to the museum. I still remember fondly all the times my father took me.
M Hardt April 24, 2013 at 02:31 pm
I don't have kids at home now, but when I did we went to the museum several times per year. I wentRead More recently with an adult group of friends. Our museum is a great place for all ages.
