Medical Rescue Team South Authority provides emergency ambulance service to Borough of Whitehall residents. While the Whitehall base is on Route 51 at the site of an old firehouse, the main MRTSA headquarters is in Mt. Lebanon. Nevertheless, MRTSA has seven ambulances and will respond to Whitehall emergencies 24 hours per day, seven days per week. MRTSA respondents are well-equipped and well-trained. The authority states on its website: "We believe that our services help maintain a healthy and productive society. For this reason, we place great emphasis on the compassion and skill of our trained staff, seeking ways to share our professionalism with the community at large."
