REMINDER: Brentwood Domino's Partners with South Baldwin Volunteer Fire

Residents receive $5 off of their orders for properly functioning smoke alarms.

The  has partnered with the Domino's Pizza shop on Route 51 in Brentwood Borough (near Bobby's Lounge) to promote fire prevention.

From 5 to 9 p.m. on March 17 and 18, 2012, those who order Domino's pizzas may be surprised when their pies arrive via a fire engine. If your pizza is delivered by a firefighter—and if all of the smoke alarms in your home are working—you will receive $5 off of your order. If any smoke alarms are not working, a firefighter will replace their batteries.

"Fire safety is vitally important," said Len Knoblock, the owner of the Brentwood Domino's. "We are thrilled to work with the National Fire Protection Association and the (South Baldwin) fire department on a program to promote the safety of our friends and neighbors and to reward those who make fire safety a priority."

Added Dan Ridenour, South Baldwin Fire's second assistant chief, "When you change your clocks for daylight saving time (March 11), it's a great time of year to remember to change the batteries in your smoke alarms. Functioning smoke alarms save lives, but many people forget to maintain the batteries.

"We are excited to be working with Domino's Pizza to promote good fire safety precautions by rewarding residents who have properly installed and functioning smoke alarms with a pizza discount."
