2012 Caste Village Fireworks Info

Independence Day celebration begins at 5 p.m. on Friday. Fireworks expected at 9:30.

One of the best yearly attractions in Pittsburgh's South Hills area returns this Friday when  in hosts another Independence Day celebration, starting at 5 p.m.

Most Caste stores will be open during the celebration to sell food, refreshments and other goods, including with its famous service line, with its candy and ice cream, and many, many others.

Of course, the event also includes Caste Village's renowned free fireworks show, which is expected to start at around 9:30 p.m. Pyrotecnico has the fireworks honors this year.

Musical entertainment will also be provided all night long, including a disc jockey from 5-7 and a live band from 7-9.

As usual, area drivers should expect the closure of Village Lane, part of Grove Road from Village Lane to Baptist Road and part of Weyman Road between Village Lane and Baptist in the hours immediately before, during and immediately after the night's festivities.

The Caste Village parking lots are always packed for this event. Not only are the lots popular temporary campsites, they also offer great vantage points of the fireworks show.
