Alumni teams from eight WPIAL schools with descend on Baldwin High School this coming November for the first-ever Western Pennsylvania Charity Alumni Basketball Tournament.

The event features male players, many of whom competed in men's college basketball programs after high school, but is being put together by Baldwin High's head and assistant girls basketball coaches Gavin Prosser and Zach Ferguson, respectively.

The goal of the tournament is to reunite WPIAL basketball alumni with teammates and the players that they competed against for a weekend of fun and competition while raising money for a good cause.

All of the money raised through entry fees, fan admissions, concessions sales, 50-50 raffles and donations will be given to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC.

The cost per team to enter the tournament is $500. Admission to watch costs $5 per person per day or $10 per person for the whole weekend (Friday through Sunday).

"The more people we can get into the gym the better the atmosphere will be and the more money we will be able to raise," Prosser said.

Fans can try half-court shots for $1 each and a chance to win prizes.
