'Put the Biscuit in the Net' Program Offers Girls Ice Hockey Experience

The program is offered to girls in grades K-12.

Attention, girls and parents of girls in grades kindergarten through 12th, there is now a great chance for young ladies to give ice hockey a try.

A program known as "Put the Biscuit in the Net" will be offered at Bladerunners in Bethel Park during the first weekend of May and is open to girls from Pittsburgh's South Hills area. It is being offered through the Girl Scouts organization.

Session times are from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3; from 11:15 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. on Saturday, May 4; and from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 5.

Organizers said that a pizza party will be held on Sunday.

The fee for the program is $30 per player. Organizers have noted that participants must be enrolled in the Girl Scouts, but any girl who would like to participate and who is not yet a Girl Scout may register for an additional $12 fee.
