P-G Article on Guy Junker, North Baldwin Baseball

Ken Kaszak writes about growing up on a Baldwin ball field.

Years ago, after starting out a season at 0-10, a Pony League-aged Ken Kaszak and his Baldwin Borough teammates fought all the way back to finish their season of baseball at the as league runners-up.

Kaszak wrote a guest piece in the April 7 issue of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in which he details his team's turnaround that season, started by a suicide squeeze play in which he tagged out eventual Pittsburgh media star Guy Junker at home plate while Kaszak's team—the Vince Lutch-coached Philles—was still winless.

Junker's team—the Astros—won that game and the league championship, but Kaszak says that his Phillies' turnaround that year encouraged him to deal with adversity throughout the rest of his life.
