Baldwin Hoops' Wentzel Makes P-G South Fab Five Squad

The senior led the Highlanders to two state playoffs wins this year.

Taylor Wentzel has capped her career with the girls basketball program by earning a spot on the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's 2011-12 South Fabulous Five team.

Wentzel, a 5-foot-6 senior point guard, served as one of Baldwin's tri-captains during this past season when the Highlanders were WPIAL semifinalists. Baldwin went on to win two games in the state playoffs before finishing its season with a to perennial power Mt. Lebanon High School at Duquesne University's A.J. Palumbo Center.

The Post-Gazette reports that Wentzel averaged 14.2 points per game this past season.

Baldwin's Head Coach Gavin Prosser said that she's headed to NCAA Division I Rider University on a basketball scholarship.
