The boys team would be a much better team if they had a coach who knew how to better utilize all of his players. It's like the last coach, Coach D, never left. He only uses the same 7 players and never tries to incorporate anyone else. They are losing with the 7 he is using. Why not try to bring in your juniors and sophomores who are playing well on your jv team? He seems to have favorites and doesn't open his eyes to all of the potential possibilities. He has a sophomore who can ball handle better than any of his older kids, but he doesn't use him. He has no defense to guard against the opposing team driving the lane and for some reason he has his 6'3" forward bring the ball up the court. He has a sophomore playing forward, I am assuming because he's big, but the kid is too afraid to get hit and flops all the time.I assume he plays because he's the quarterback. And why does he have the 12th grade English teacher, Mr. Sinning on both the varsity and jv bench? All the guy does is yell and from listening to him he doesn't have a clue what his yelling about. He has a freshman coach who is the clone of Coach D. You fired him, but you let this coach hire someone just like him. Hey Baldwin why don't you tell the football coach to take the varsity basketball coach with him when he walks out the door? As long as you have this coach, with Sinning and Drennon coaching you will never have a winning season.. A Baldwin Alumni

Same thing happens in Football.....I notice you wonder about certain kids starting and you can't figure out why....Politics..... It's all in who you know.....Baldwin is very good at hiring because of who knows who. God forbid they actually interview properly.

That is truly a fact! I can't find any other reason why Sinning is on the bench. I feel bad for those kids who work their butts off only to be dragged down by a useless head coach and a assistant coach who is only there because of his parents. Same goes for kids who are playing only because mommy and daddy whine enough. I noticed at the Mt. Lebo game Coach Urmann spent more time chit chatting with the Mt. Lebo kids then his own. And Sinning sat their and yelled at kids when those kids should not have been yelled at. The ones that should have been yelled at were the freshman that are playing JV and shouldn't be. All 9th graders should be on the freshman team. The coaching staff is a joke, They have true talent on that bench and they let it go to waste because some parent whines. I thought the whole idea of the game was to win. They aren't winning with what they have. Get a new head coach, get rid of the "my mommy says I have to play players" and get a "real" basketball program in place with quality players and better coaches. Unless of course Sinning is reading poetry to them on the bench!

All of this also needs to start at the Middle school evel. They aren't learning anything there either. Build your team from the middle shool level, all the other school districts do that. It only makes sense.

I agree! But in talking with some families from the high school Urmann won't do it. It should also include the travel/metro teams that Baldwin has. There should be a little dribblers program, but there isn't. Urmann doesn't do anything, he seems very anti-social. Wish he would go back to Mt. Lebo where he belongs. The JV team seems to like Voelker as their coach. They aren't winning anymore then the varsity, but those kids play with a lot more heart and they listen to Voelker when he talks. If you don't respect the coach you just aren't going to play well and I don't think any of those players respect Urmann. Why not make Voelker the varsity coach and get rid of Urmann, Sinning, Leslie and Drennin?

I happen to know the kids adore urmann and bond like a family. Take a look at how boastful they are of each other and get to know the players before making assumptions about if they like the coach or not. And please elaborate on the players that are better ball handlers then your star Aj Greco who put up 17 a game? I agree that they may have lacked defense but you act like they have bench players that can play the game better then Doug can at the four spot. His basketball Iq Is off the chart as well and he plays the position hard. Sinning knows basketball that's for sure he wouldn't be there if he didn't so please elaborate on these bench players better then Doug because there is not any that can play the 4 that he did that's for sure. So before running your mouth and making comments about sinning reading poetry get to know the players and how much of a band of brothers the team was.
