March 7 McAnnulty-Whitehall PTO Meeting Notes

A March 25 comedy-show fundraiser is promoted. Also, the PTO names its nominating committee for officers positions.

The  and 's joint Parent-Teacher Organization named its nominating committee for officers positions at a meeting at McAnnulty Elementary on March 7.

The PTO's three-person team of Kelly Bischoff, Kim Maiden and Lisa Sadler is now charged with receiving nominations of parents of McAnnulty and Whitehall Elementary students for officers positions within the PTO, including President, Vice President-McAnnulty, Vice President-Whitehall, Treasurer, Recording Secretary and Corresponding Secretary.

Bischoff, Maiden and Sadler will present the nominations that they have received at the next PTO meeting, to be held on Monday, April 4, in Whitehall's Room 115 at 1:50 p.m.

The candidates will then be voted on at the final PTO meeting of the 2010-11 school year, to be held on Monday, May 2, in McAnnulty's cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. Current PTO President and Baldwin-Whitehall school-board member Laurencine Romack said that any parent of a McAnnulty or Whitehall student can run for a position at the May 2 meeting "from the floor," though.

You can contact the PTO through its website to submit a nomination in advance. Current officers may run for re-election.

Also at the March 7 meeting, Romack promoted a PTO fundraiser scheduled for Friday, March 25. The organization is sponsoring an adult-only comedy show at the Royal Place Restaurant on Route 88 on March 25 from 8 to 10 p.m. Tickets cost $15 each and include performances by 3-4 comedians and club-dancing that would normally cost a cover charge.

This event is open to all adults, and tickets can be purchased at the door. Contact the PTO for advanced tickets.

The PTO also announced that it found a chairperson – Alexis Aggazio, the parent of a first-grader – for "Inspirations," its arts program offered for McAnnulty and Whitehall students.

Toward the end of the meeting, the organization decided to use Keystone Inc.'s Spring Surprises catalog as another upcoming fundraiser.
