Baldwin-Whitehall Directors Approve 2013-14 School Board Student Reps

The number of student board representatives is back to its normal count of three.

The Baldwin-Whitehall School Board approved last week by an 8-0 vote—board member Larry Pantuso was absent—a list of student school board representatives for the 2013-14 academic year.

Returning for next school year are Victoria Schmotzer and Jennifer Yanko. Schmotzer was Baldwin High School's junior and sophomore class representatives in 2012-13 and 2011-12, respectively, and will represent the senior class in 2013-14. Likewise, Yanko represented the sophomore class in 2012-13.

Also approved was newcomer Alex Butelli, who will represent the sophomores in 2013-14.

The number of student board representatives is back to its normal count of three from a count of four in 2012-13. The school board added a fourth student in 2012-13—recent graduate Joseph Doyle—so as to have at least one male student at the reps table. Butelli is now the lone male voice at that table.
