Steel Center Area Vocational Technical School, which services the and is located in nearby Jefferson Hills Borough, is accepting applications for its 2011 Summer Technology Camp, to be held from Aug. 2-4.
The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and is designed for middle-school and high-school students interested in exploring the basic skills needed for careers in computer-related technology fields.
The camp costs $20, which includes three lunches and a T-shirt, and is limited to 50 students on a first-come, first-served basis. Click here to register online. (The registration fee can be waived for low-income families.)

Students will participate in hands-on activities and learn about computer-game development, creating websites and podcasts, drawing 3-D buildings using Revit software, computer art with Adobe Photoshop, building basic circuits, and soldering techniques.
