Voter Registration Deadline Is Tuesday

Allegheny County residents must mail in their voter registration forms by Tuesday or visit the county office building in downtown Pittsburgh in person.

To vote in November's general election, you must register to do so by Tuesday, Oct. 9.

Are you eligible to vote in Pennsylvania? You must be:

  1. A citizen of the United States for at least one month prior to the next primary, special, municipal or general election
  2. A resident of Pennsylvania and the election district in which you desire to vote for at least 30 days prior to the next primary, special, municipal or general election
  3. At least 18 years of age on the day of the next primary, special, municipal or general election.

In the 2012 general election, voters will elect the president of the United States, one U.S. senator, Attorney General, Auditor General, state Treasurer, U.S. representative, state senator in odd-numbered districts and state representatives.

In Allegheny County, you may register to vote at the Elections Division, Room 609 of the county office building, at the corner of Ross Street and Forbes Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh. Regular business hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but the Elections Division will stay open late on Tuesday—until 7.
