Reminder: Voter Registration Deadline Is April 18

Allegheny County residents can register in person or by mail for May 17 primary elections.

Residents who wish to vote in Allegheny County's May 17 primary elections must register by April 18.

Registered voters who have moved or changed their name or party affiliation must notify the Allegheny County Division of Elections by that deadline. Voters must be registered with a political party to vote in primary elections.

Qualified voters must have lived in their election district for at least 30 days before the primaries and be at least 18 years of age on or before the date of the election.

You can register between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at the Office of the Registration Commission at 542 Forbes Ave. in Pittsburgh. The county elections division will remain open until 5 p.m. on April 18 to accept hand-delivered voter-registration forms.

Registration-by-mail forms must be postmarked no later than April 18. The forms are available at Armed Services recruitment centers, area agencies on aging, U.S. post offices and county and municipal government offices. Forms also can be obtained online at www.votespa.com.
