Whitehall police officers went to the 1700 block of Skyline Drive in the Prospect Park area at around 8:05 p.m. on Sunday in search of a female who was allegedly trying to break into cars there.

While officers were checking buildings in the area during their search for the female, they reported smelling the odor of burnt marijuana coming an apartment at 1745 Skyline, Danko said.

The officers investigated that apartment, found its resident—Mark Andrew Ostrowski, 24—to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and a smoking pipe, Danko said, and are charging Ostrowski with disorderly conduct.

The female from the cars incident was not located, but no thefts were reported from the area at that time.
