Whitehall Police Discover Stolen Vehicles on Back-to-Back Days on Route 51

On Tuesday, Oct. 11, at approximately 12:31 a.m., a officer observed a vehicle traveling south on Route 51 in with what was reported as "fresh damage" to it.

The officer checked the vehicle's license plate number and learned that it was reported as being stolen in Homestead Borough.

The officer then stopped the vehicle, arrested its driver—Jonathan Crawford, 24, of 115 Maryland Ave. in West Mifflin Borough—and charged Crawford with receiving stolen property and driving without a license.

Stolen Vehicle on Route 51, Part II

On Monday, Oct. 10, at approximately 2:14 a.m., a Whitehall police officer observed a vehicle traveling south on Route 51 with a flat right-front tire.

The officer checked the vehicle's license plate number and learned that it was reported as being stolen in Bethel Park.

The officer then stopped the vehicle, arrested its driver—Rayshon Shields, 19, of 69 Harwood St. in Pittsburgh's Allentown neighborhood—and charged Shields with receiving stolen property, providing false identification to law enforcement and careless driving.

Simple Assault and Harassment Charges at Whitehall Place

On Sunday, Oct. 9, at approximately 12:31 p.m., Whitehall police officers responded to a disturbance in the 1600 block of Parkline Drive in the .

Upon investigating, the officers determined that a male and a female had engaged in a physical altercation there. Whitehall police are charging the male—Derrick Wade, 38, of 1695 Parkline, Apt. 32—with simple assault and harassment.
