Whitehall Police Chief Reminds Residents to Lock Cars

And other Whitehall police notes from May 8-21.

Theft from Unlocked Car

As he was leaving to go to work during the morning of May 16, a  resident from the 4700 block of Rolling Hills Road found that his GPS unit had been stolen from his car. He told police that he had left his car unlocked overnight.

Chief Donald R. Dolfi said that the incident serves as a good reminder for residents to always lock their cars.

Trouble in the Park

  • Also on May 16, at around 8:28 a.m., police found a broken window and damage to a ventilation system at a shelter house at . Upon checking the park, officers found food items strewn around the inside of the house. The Greater Baldwin Whitehall Athletic Association uses the house to store refreshments. The incident is being investigated.
  • While on foot patrol at around 8:54 p.m. on May 19, officers noticed two female juveniles attempting to quickly leave Overlook Acres Park. The officers investigated and discovered illegal drugs in the girls' possession. The girls were later released to the custody of their parents. Charges are pending.

Also on May 19, at 9 p.m., Whitehall police were called to an to find that the front entry of a residence had been vandalized with graffiti.

The resident who called police said that this had happened between 2 and 9 p.m. that day.

Upon further investigation, more graffiti was found in the laundry room of the same apartment building. The case is under investigation.

Disturbance at Apartment

At around 11:04 p.m. on May 21, police responded to a disturbance at an apartment building on Parkline Drive in the area.

Neighbors had been alarmed by loud noises coming from an apartment on the top floor of that building.

After locating the apartment in question, officers cited Ukkashah Muhammad, 45, and Talaya Davis, 29, for disorderly conduct.
