Whitehall Man's Car Vandalized Twice in 3 Weeks, and More Police News

Vandalism, a burglary, drug charges and a stolen tailgate.

Poor Guy

A man from the Whitehall Place Apartments building at 1821 Parkline Dr. in the Wallace (Prospect) Park area contacted police at around 8:50 a.m. on July 5 to report that, sometime overnight, someone damaged his vehicle while it was parked toward the front of his building.

According to Whitehall Borough police Deputy Chief Richard M. Danko, the victim's vehicle had a flat right-front tire and two small chips in its front windshield. Also, the molding had been pulled free from both of the car's doors.

This is the same vehicle that was vandalized on June 12 in the same block of Parkline when someone removed the Infiniti emblem from the back of the car and caused scratch damage to the car.

Both incidents are under investigation, Danko said.

The victim was asked if he had any enemies in the area, but he could not think of any.

Parkline Drive Burglary

Whitehall police responded at around 1:15 p.m. on July 6 to a burglary report in the Prospect Park area's 1600 block of Parkline.

The victims reported that, sometime between July 3 and 5, someone entered their residence and stole three video game systems and a number of video games, Danko said.

The value of the stolen items is approximately $1,750.

Danko said that police found no forced entry to the residence.

Drug Charges for Whitehall Man

A Whitehall police officer on patrol at around 4:55 p.m. on July 2 observed a suspicious man in the parking lot behind a building in Prospect's 1700 block of Skyline Drive, Danko said.

The officer reported that the man appeared to be surprised by the officer. The man also appeared to be reaching repeatedly into the waistband of his shorts, Danko said.

Upon investigation, the man—Zachary Randolph, 25, who lives in the building adjoining the parking lot—was found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and is being charged with those offenses, Danko said.

Stolen Tailgate

A business owner from Route 51 reported to Whitehall police on July 9 that, sometime overnight, someone removed a black Imperial grand tailgate from a Ford dump truck parked at the business location, according to Danko.

A replacement cost is not known at this time. The incident is under investigation.
