Krugh Automotive Break-In

police received a call from  in the 5000 block of Brownsville Road at around 7:44 a.m. on March 17.

An employee there reported that a Krugh building was broken into overnight. Someone had entered it through a garage window and removed one Pennsylvania semi-annual inspection certificate, 77 state annual inspection certificates and 80 state emissions certificates, according to Deputy Chief Richard M. Danko.

The Allegheny County Crime Lab has taken evidence from the scene, and police are waiting for more information to move forward with their investigation.

Hypodermic Needles on Curry Road

A Whitehall police officer pulled over Anthony Regis Yost, 50, of 2281 Jacob St. in Pittsburgh's Overbrook neighborhood, at the intersection of Curry and McAnulty roads in south  at around 11:37 a.m. on March 26 for speeding near  farther up Curry.

The officer estimated Yost to be traveling close to 60 mph in a 25 mph zone, Danko said.

A search of Yost's vehicle turned up hypodermic needles, which the officer found underneath Yost's driver's seat. Yost also had a suspended driver's license.

Although the officer did not believe that Yost was driving while impaired, the officer said that Yost admitted to using narcotics the previous day.

Family Video Theft

Management from the  on Route 51 called Whitehall police at around 1:48 p.m. on March 22 to report that two males worked together to steal six DVDs from the store, Danko said.

One of the males was described as being white and in his mid-20s, and wearing a dark-colored suit. The other male—also white but of an unknown age—was wearing casual dark clothing.

The males left the Family Video in a newer-model white Ford pickup truck and headed south down Route 51.

The incident is under investigation.

Graffiti at Orchard Heights

Whitehall police received a criminal mischief call from near Frank Street on March 20.

A Whitehall municipal worker discovered graffiti done with black spray paint on the side of a building there, Danko said, which the worker believed would have occurred sometime overnight.

The incident is under investigation.

Harassment, Public Drunkenness and Disorderly Conduct

Whitehall police responded to a harassment call from the 1600 block of Skyline Drive in the  area at around 4:55 p.m. on March 22, Danko said.

An investigation of the scene led police officers to arrest two men on different charges:

• Michael Kuol, 26, of 1651 Skyline, Apt. 15, on harassment and public drunkenness
• Junior S. Mulbah, 27, of 1651 Skyline, Apt. 3, on disorderly conduct

Party Broken Up

Whitehall police received a call reporting a loud party at the 1600 block of Skyline at around 11:30 p.m. on March 24.

An investigation of the scene led police officers to arrest three people on similar charges:

• Jared Ryan Humphrey, 22, of 1621 Skyline, Apt. 5, on possession of a small amount of marijuana
• Jacqueline Stanford, 18, of 2201 Duquesne Pl., Apt. 207, in Duquesne, on possession of a small amount of marijuana
• Jerrmie Lee Fields, 38, of 1400 Duquesne Pl., Apt. 100, on possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of crack cocaine.

ID Theft

A resident of the 1200 block of Prospect Road called Whitehall police at around 3:18 p.m. on March 22 to report that she was victim of identity theft, Danko said.

A total of $44.95 was spent on the victim's Discover Card without her permission. She did not know when her identity was compromised.

She has canceled all of her other credit card and bank accounts.

ID Theft, Part II

A resident of the 5100 block of Caste Drive called Whitehall police at around 5:34 p.m. on March 25 to report that she was victim of identity theft, Danko said.

The resident said the she received a phone call informing her that someone was trying to purchase two watches on her Discover Card—one for $5,000 and another for $7,000—from AuthenticWatches.com, of Moorpark, CA.

Whitehall police have received the Internet Protocol (IP) address from a possible culprit of the identify theft. The IP address came from a Temple University complex in Philadelphia.

The incident is still under investigation.
