Whitehall Borough Police Briefs (July 5-18)

Attack at Whitehall Place, juveniles run from police behind Harrison Middle School, stolen motorcycle registration, and more.

Attack at Whitehall Place

On July 12 at approximately 5:14 p.m., a resident of 1838 Parkline Drive in the  reported to the that he was attacked inside of his apartment building that day.

The victim said that, as he approached the building, a young male asked him where the laundry room was located. The victim provided directions and then went to the floor of his specific apartment. As the victim reached his floor, he said that the same young male and two other males attacked him, striking him in the side of the face and stealing his cell phone from his backpack.

The victim said that he could not identify any of the males, only that they were all wearing shorts and were most likely 20 years old or less. He could not say which of the three males had struck him.

Whitehall police canvassed the area but could not find anyone believed to be involved. The victim is not believed to be seriously injured.

Juveniles Run from Police Behind Harrison Middle School

On July 14 at approximately 2:04 a.m., police received a call about a group of suspicious juveniles behind . When police officers arrived at the scene, they observed two males and one female there. The juveniles saw police officers approaching them and tried to run away, according to Whitehall police Chief Donald R. Dolfi.

Through verbal commands, the female and one of the males stopped but the other got away. While the officers were trying to obtain information from the remaining two juveniles, those two ran away, as well.

Police collected personal belongings at the scene which led them to one individual. Police are now requesting interviews, and the incident is under investigation.

Alcohol and other substances (possibly illegal drugs) were also found at the scene, according to Dolfi.

Stolen Motorcycle Registration

On July 14 at approximately 2:10 p.m, a resident from the 4600 block of Rolling Hills Road contacted Whitehall police to report that the registration plate of the motorcycle that he had parked in his driveway had been stolen sometime over the past three weeks.

The man said that he noticed that the plate was missing when he returned from a recent vacation.

Missing Purse?

On July 15 at approximately 10:37 a.m., a resident from the 4900 block of Willow Drive called police to report that she had found a purse lying in the walkway of her yard.

Whitehall police are asking anyone wishing to claim the purse to report to their station on Borough Park Drive.

Stolen Camera

On July 17 at approximately 10:47 a.m., a resident of the 1400 block of Maple Drive came into the Whitehall police station to report that her camera was stolen.

The resident said that she last saw her camera a few days earlier when she placed it on a computer desk at her residence. She could not name the exact date.

Since there is no sign of forced entry to her home, the victim told police that she knows who might have stolen it.

The camera, a Fujifilm model, is valued at around $330.

An investigation is pending.
