Identity Theft

A resident from the 5300 block of Baptist Road came into the  on July 28 at approximately 3:26 p.m. to report that his debit card had been used twice for unauthorized purchases in West Virginia, once for $425.74 and again for $51.87.

The victim has since been in contact with his bank in an attempt to have his account credited for the amount of the unauthorized uses.

Warrant

A police officer on patrol near observed a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction on Parkline Drive in the  on July 30 at approximately 12:41 a.m.

The officer noticed that there was no registration sticker on the license plate of the vehicle in question and initiated a traffic stop.

Upon gathering information from the two males in the vehicle, the officer determined that the passenger had an outstanding warrant from the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police. The man—Jaquaye Brown, 23, of 1904 Gephart St. in Pittsburgh—was wanted by Pittsburgh police on theft and receiving stolen property charges. Whitehall police took custody of Brown before turning him over to city police.

Public Intoxication on Radford Road

Whitehall officers on patrol near Wallace Park on July 30 at approximately 3:43 a.m. came across a man sitting sideways in the driver's seat of a vehicle parked next to the .

The officers reported that the man had his feet on the ground outside of his vehicle and appeared ill. The officers determined that he had vomited and was intoxicated.

A family member came to take custody of the man—Michael Hortert, 26, of 1814 Rialto St. in Pittsburgh's Troy Hill neighborhood—who was charged by Whitehall police with public intoxication.

DUI in Brookline

The Dormont-Brookline Patch is reporting that Richard Petro, 47, of 4601 W. Barlind Drive in Whitehall, was arrested by Pittsburgh police on July 31 for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol in the 1200 block of Brookline Blvd.

Marijuana on Doyle Road

Officers on patrol noticed a suspicious male talking on his cell phone on Doyle Road on Aug. 1 at approximately 1:32 a.m. During their conversation with the male—Christopher Stockley, 22, of 5269 Ranchview Drive in —the officers observed what they believed to be a container of marijuana in Stockley's right-front pocket and charged him with possession of a controlled substance.

Theft at Sunoco

On Aug. 1 at approximately 11:24 a.m., a clerk at the reported that three males had stolen a case of water from a storage bin just outside of the convenience store. The clerk informed officers that a customer advised him of the theft and observed that the three males had taken the water up a hillside toward .

A security guard at Baldwin High said that he did not see anything suspicious.

The incident is under investigation.
