They Took What?

A resident from the 1800 block of Parkline Drive in Whitehall's Wallace (Prospect) Park area contacted police at around 4:20 p.m. on June 12 to report that someone recently removed the Infiniti emblem from the back of his vehicle and scratched the vehicle, Danko said.

The Infiniti was parked in the rear of the victim's apartments building. The value of the emblem is estimated at $100. The cost to repair the scratch damage is unknown at this time.

Marijuana Charge

A Whitehall police officer made a traffic stop in the 3600 block of Saw Mill Run Boulevard (Route 51) at around 6 p.m. on June 16, and during the stop, the officer detected a moderate odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle in question, Danko said.

The vehicle's driver—Benjamin Ryan Hoover, 21, of Sutersville Road in Sewickley Township, PA—admitted to being in possession of a small amount of marijuana, according to the deputy chief, and voluntarily gave the officer a clear plastic bag containing the substance.

Hoover was released at the scene but is being charged with possession of marijuana.

Identity Theft x 2

Two residents—one from Harter Circle and the other from Caste Drive—came to the Whitehall police station between June 11 and 14 to report that they were recent victims of identity theft.

The Harter resident said that someone was using her personal information to fill out financing applications, while the Caste resident said that he was receiving credit cards that he never applied for, Danko said.

Police advised both victims to put a fraud alert on their bank and credit accounts.
