Unsolved Cases: Jacob Lipp Went Missing in December

Jacob "Jake" Lipp, 27, did what many young adults do on the weekend—head to Pittsburgh's Strip District for the night life.

Lipp left his home in North Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County, at about 8:45 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, and ended up with his girlfriend at the Static bar on Smallman Street. The couple left the bar and then had an argument in the early morning hours of Dec. 16.

The girlfriend drove off, leaving Lipp in the parking lot. He walked in the opposite direction, back toward the bar. She circled the block and went back, but Lipp was already gone. He was last seen at about 3 a.m. in the parking lot outside of the McDonald's restaurant at 1630 Penn Ave. in the Strip District, about two blocks from where his girlfriend left him. Video surveillance showed him walking on foot.

Lipp did not have his cellphone with him when he disappeared. There has been no activity on his bank cards.

Lipp is white with a fair complexion, stands 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He has brown eyes and long, straight brown hair that he sometimes wears in dreadlocks. He has a chickenpox scar in the middle of his forehead and was last seen wearing jeans, a handmade hemp necklace, a black Grateful Dead T-shirt and a brown hoodie with cream-colored designs of squares and stripes.

Lipp's family made an emotional plea for his return on WPXI-TV after he did not come home for Christmas.
