The officers found that man at that location and reported that he was acting nervous and making body movements that suggested that he was going to run away. Police asked the man if he was carrying any contraband, and upon hearing that question, police reported that he grabbed at a pocket of his pants.

The officers patted the man—Nathaniel Kassouf, 26, of 1820 Parkline Drive—down and discovered marijuana on him. Kassouf will be charged via summons with possession of a controlled substance.

On May 21 at approximately 6:20 p.m., an off-duty Allegheny County deputy sheriff reported that a man was staggering in and out of traffic near the station at the intersection of Provost and Weyman roads. The deputy sheriff remained on the scene until Whitehall police officers arrived. Upon meeting the man in question, the Whitehall officers confirmed that he was walking in a staggered fashion and that he appeared to be dazed.

The officers reported noticing a syringe protruding from a pocket of the man’s pants. When the man emptied his pockets, the officers also reported finding a metal spoon lying next to the syringe as the items were placed on the ground.

Police ultimately took the man—Sean Hindman, 24, of ’s 5252 Fieldcrest Drive—into custody for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and transported him to Allegheny County Jail.

When a Whitehall officer was on his way to the scene to investigate, a vehicle being driven by a man in dark clothing—reported by police to be a white male aged 16 to 25—was approaching the officer in the opposite lane of traffic. The officer reported that the oncoming vehicle was traveling with no rear lights on and turned to follow that vehicle. As the officer turned around, he acquired the vehicle’s license-plate number.
