Two Theft Reports in Baldwin Boro on Saturday

An employee at The Residences of South Hills and a resident on North Street are victimized.

Apartments Complex Employee Victimized

A police officer went to leasing office at around 2:45 p.m. on Saturday in response to a theft report.

According to the police report of the incident, the victim—a Residences employee—said that she left her BlackBerry cellphone in the top drawer of her desk when she left that desk at around 2:20 to show an apartment to a potential tenant.

But when she returned to the desk at around 2:30, she said, the phone was no longer there.

The police officer spoke with another woman working in the office at the time, who said that she did not see anyone take the phone. However, she did report that several other people came in and out of the leasing office while the victim was away.

The BlackBerry is valued at approximately $330.

The incident is under investigation.

North Street Resident Victimized

A short time later on Saturday, at around 2:50 p.m., a officer went to a residence on North Street for another theft report.

According to the police report of that incident, a man told the officer that someone had entered his pickup truck sometime during the previous night and removed approximately $10 in change from it.

The man said that his wife heard their dogs barking sometime between 9 and 10 p.m. on Friday but that she assumed that the animals were just barking at deer, which are common there.

The incident is under investigation.
