Two Men Charged with DUI in North Baldwin

Arrests were made on Saturday and Monday mornings.

Arrest on Becks Run Road

A Baldwin Borough police officer stopped a vehicle on Becks Run Road at around 2:18 a.m. on Monday for erratic driving, according to a police report.

The officer reported smelling alcohol when he approached the vehicle's driver—Robert Anthony Hassett, 54, of East Agnew Avenue in Pittsburgh's Carrick neighborhood. The officer also reported that Hassett admitted to recently drinking alcohol.

Hassett was put through field-sobriety and breath-analyzer tests, which he failed, before being arrested and taken to the Baldwin police station. He then failed another breath-analyzer test before being released.

Police are charging Hassett with suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Arrest on Steiner Street

A Baldwin Borough police officer stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of Steiner Street at around 1:47 a.m. on Saturday for erratic driving, according to a police report.

The officer reported smelling alcohol when he approached the vehicle's driver—Justin Andrew Ronczka, 23, of Elwell Avenue in West Mifflin Borough. The officer also reported that Ronczka admitted to recently drinking alcohol.

Ronczka was put through field-sobriety tests, which he failed, before being arrested and taken to the Baldwin police station. He then failed a breath-analyzer test before being released.

Police are charging Ronczka with suspicion of DUI.
