Suspected Heroin Overdose on Skyline Drive

And five other stories in these Whitehall police notes.

Suspected Overdose

Whitehall Borough police officers arrived at a residence in the 1600 block of Skyline Drive in the Wallace (Prospect) Park area at around 9:47 a.m. on Sunday for a report of an unconscious male, Whitehall police Deputy Chief Richard M. Danko said.

Crews from Medical Rescue Team South Authority also came to the scene to find the man—Nicholas Antonio Miller, 24, of 2922 Glenmore Ave. in Dormont Borough—in a state of "ineffective breathing," Danko said.

Danko said that Miller was suffering from an apparent overdose of a controlled substance and that he was in possession of a syringe that contained what is suspected to be heroin.

An ambulance took him to UPMC Mercy Hospital for treatment, Danko said. A Mercy representative on Tuesday said that Miller has since been released.

Whitehall police are charging Miller with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Criminal Mischief

A resident of Baptist Road contacted Whitehall police at around 7:16 a.m. on Nov. 27 to report that someone has recently ridden through his front yard on a bicycle, causing damage to a number of holiday decorations.

The total cost of the damage is unknown.

ID Theft I

A resident of Earlsdale Road contacted Whitehall police at around 5:18 p.m. on Wednesday to report that a representative of her bank had just informed her of some fraudulent activity on her account, Danko said.

Whitehall police advised the victim to contact major credit bureaus to issue a fraud alert on all of her bank and credit accounts.

ID Theft II

A resident of Provost Road contacted Whitehall police at around 8:03 a.m. on Friday to report that someone had recently made between $700 and $800 worth of fraudulent purchases through his bank account, Danko said.

The activity was spread across two transactions—one at Wal-Mart and the other for an airline ticket.
