Stolen Items from Grove City Found Behind Getaway Cafe: Baldwin Township Police Briefs (April 29-May 12)

DUI

On May 7 at approximately 1:55 a.m., a police officer stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of McNeilly Road for swerving. After putting the vehicle’s driver—Monica Nickles, 32, of Hamilton Road in Castle Shannon Borough—through field-sobriety tests, the officer arrested Nickles and charged her with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Police transported Nickles to for a blood test before eventually releasing her to the custody of her husband. Results of Nickles’ blood test are pending.

Nickles is also being charged with failure to drive within a single lane of traffic.

On May 10 at approximately 7:27 p.m., the owner of the contacted the to report that several items had been illegally placed in a dumpster behind his restaurant.

When police officers inspected the dumpster, they found documents and other property inside that are believed to be related to burglary crimes under investigation in Grove City Borough.

Baldwin Township police Chief Terrence P. O’Brien said that his department used information found on the documents in the dumpster to establish their relationship to the Grove City burglaries. O’Brien’s department is now working with the Pennsylvania State Police’s Mercer County barracks in regard to the incident.
