Shoplifting at AutoZone

An employee of the  called  police at around 12:49 p.m. on June 11 to complain that a white male, approximately 35-40 years old and wearing a blue hoodie, had taken an item from the store without paying.

The employee checked the store's inventory on June 14 and discovered that a "highway blaster horn" valued at $19.99 was the item taken, Deputy Chief Richard M. Danko said.

The shoplifter left the store by getting into a beige-colored vehicle and lying down on its back seat while a white female wearing a pink shirt drove away northbound on Route 51.

Whitehall police are trying to locate the shoplifter and his accomplice. They have traced their vehicle to a location in Carnegie Borough and are working with the Carnegie Police Department on the case.

Fox's Pizza Break-In

A Bevan Road resident called Whitehall police at around 10:53 p.m. on Monday to report two suspicious men near .

When officers arrived to investigate, Danko said, they observed the men attempting to break into Fox's Pizza by removing a boarded up window there.

As such, police are charging Nathan Broadus, 22, of 1600 Skyline Dr., Apt. 10, in Whitehall's area, and Brandon Taylor, 20, of 1446 N. Franklin St. in Pittsburgh's Manchester neighborhood, with criminal trespass, criminal mischief, prowling and attempted burglary.

Bad Dogs!

A resident from the 500 block of Greenlee Road called Whitehall police at around 10:59 a.m. on June 13 to report that two dogs were running loose on Greenlee and that this was the fourth time in the past seven days that the same dogs had been loose, Danko said.

Police have cited the dogs' owner, Michael Grande, 55, of 525 Greenlee, for violating a borough ordinance preventing dogs and cats from running at large.

Hello? Hello?

A resident from the 1600 block of Parkline Drive in the Prospect Park area called Whitehall police at around 3:01 p.m. on Tuesday to report that his cellphone, which he accidentally left at a Prospect ball field at around 11 a.m. that day, is missing.

The resident said that someone is answering his cellphone when he calls its number, but the person answering the phone will not speak to him, Danko said.

The resident is valuing his phone—a Samsung T-Mobile model—at $300.

Whitehall police are working with T-Mobile to try to locate it.

Identity Theft

A resident from the 1700 block of Parkline called Whitehall police on Monday to report fraudulent online activity in the amount of $39.90 on his Bank of America credit card.

The loss will be handled internally by Bank of America security, Danko said.
