Scary Home Entry on Greenlee Road

A resident of 's 500 block of Greenlee Road called police at around 10:28 a.m. on Friday to report that a man had forced himself into her home by breaking through the home's rear door, Chief Donald R. Dolfi said.

The woman ran from her home through her front door and to a neighbor's home. She told police that the intruder was around 18 or 19 years old with brown hair and wearing a light brown jacket.

Officers from the Whitehall and Brentwood Borough police departments came to the scene to search for the man. They did not find him in the home or in the immediate area.

A crime scene unit from the district attorney's office processed the scene for evidence, and an investigation is ongoing.

K2 Possession on Brownsville Road

A Whitehall police officer observed a motorist attempting to light a smoking bowl while driving through the 4900 block of Brownsville Road at around 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Dolfi said.

The driver—Arman Aslanyan, 19, of 3269 Library Rd. in Castle Shannon Borough—was pulled over and put through field-sobriety tests, which he passed. However, Aslanyan was found to be in possession of a drug known as K2—a substance similar to marijuana.

Aslanyan told police that the substance is legal, but police disagreed and are charging him with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. UPDATE: The charges were .

The K2 was confiscated and sent to the Allegheny County Crime Lab.

Criminal Mischief at South Hills Country Club

Whitehall police came to the  at around 1:28 p.m. on Friday in response to a criminal mischief call.

When they arrived, officers were shown that windows were broken out on a country club backhoe parked near Glen Elm Drive, Dolfi said. The damage—estimated at $2,500—happened sometime that day, a representative of the club said.

Police were given information on two to three young males who were throwing rocks nearby and who may have been responsible.

The incident is being investigated.

Criminal Mischief on Skyline Drive

Whitehall police received a call from a resident on Skyline Drive in the area at around 7:01 p.m. on Wednesday.

The resident reported that three young males were breaking windows on a garage door at 1776 Skyline, Dolfi said. A short while later, the resident called police again to report that the boys were now inside of the garage.

Dolfi said that the boys ran from officers once they arrived at the scene. The boys—ages 11, 13 and 15—were all caught, though, and turned over to their parents.

The boys' families are facing restitution for the damage.

Bike Found on Varner Road

A Whitehall resident found a green-and-chrome 18-speed bicycle on Varner Road at around 12:14 p.m. on Friday, Dolfi said.

Anyone who can prove ownership of the bike is asked to call Whitehall police at 412-884-1100.
