Results from Magisterial District Court 05-2-17
Judge Barton's jurisdiction includes Whitehall Borough and Baldwin Township.
The following results are from recent hearings held in the Caste Village office of Magistrate David J. Barton of District Court 05-2-17:
- Whitehall Borough police charged Gilwood Jackson Jr., 23, of 438 E. Carter Drive in North Versailles Township, with public intoxication on Oct. 16. Jackson faced that charge in front of Barton on Feb. 15, was found guilty and was fined $438.50.

- Whitehall Borough police charged Melvin Augustino Dias, 25, of 407 Russellwood Ave. in McKees Rocks Borough, with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver on Jan. 6. Dias' Feb. 7 hearing before Barton was waived, and he will face those charges at the Allegheny County Courthouse on March 26.
- Whitehall police charged Rayshon Shields, 19, of 69 Harwood St. in Pittsburgh's Allentown neighborhood, with receiving stolen property (auto), providing false identification to law enforcement and careless driving on Oct. 10. Barton held those charges on Oct. 25, and Shields faced a Dec. 14 hearing at the Allegheny County Courthouse. Shields then faced a pretrial conference on Feb. 3, where it was determined that he will have a non-jury trial starting on March 29.

- Whitehall police charged Robert Bryan Weisen, 22, of 1315 Rodgers St. in Pittsburgh's Lincoln Place neighborhood, with assault, harassment and disorderly conduct stemming from a Nov. 20 incident at the Route 51 Eat'n Park. Weisen's Dec. 20 hearing before Barton was waived, and he faced those charges at the Allegheny County Courthouse on Feb. 8. He will now have a pretrial conference on March 16.
- Whitehall police charged Zachary Mielcarek, 19, of 1701 Parkline Drive, Apt. 12, in Whitehall's Wallace (Prospect) Park area, with simple assault on Aug. 20. Mielcarek's Nov. 22 hearing before Barton was waived, and he faced that charge at the Allegheny County Courthouse on Jan. 11. Mielcarek then faced a pretrial conference on Feb. 17, where it was determined that he will have a non-jury trial starting on April 23.
- Baldwin Township police charged Todd M. Beckett, 44, of Arkansas Avenue in Dormont Borough, with driving under the influence of alcohol on Nov. 12. Beckett's Jan. 31 hearing before Barton was waived, and he will face that charge at the Allegheny County Courthouse on March 19.
- Baldwin Township police charged Jonathan Rakestraw, 27, of Linda Drive in Pittsburgh's Brookline neighborhood, with DUI on Dec. 9. Rakestraw's Jan. 31 hearing before Barton was waived, and he will face that charge at the Allegheny County Courthouse on March 19.
- Baldwin Township police charged Jennifer Irwin, 31, of McRoberts Road in Castle Shannon Borough, with drug possession on Sept. 24. Irwin's Dec. 20 hearing before Barton was waived, and she faced that charge at the Allegheny County Courthouse on Feb. 8. Her case will now be part of a docket conference scheduled for March 28. That conference should result in the next legal step for Irwin's charge.
- Baldwin Township police charged Scott Crawford, 42, of Mississippi Avenue in Dormont, with DUI after Crawford crashed his vehicle into a utility pole on Dewalt Drive on Aug. 12. Crawford's Oct. 11 hearing before Barton was waived, and he faced that charge at the Allegheny County Courthouse on Feb. 9. Crawford was granted an accelerated rehabilitative disposition (ARD) hearing to begin on April 5.
