Prostitution Charge at Caste Village for Whitehall Woman

Whitehall police were acting on information received a few months prior from the Pittsburgh police's Vice Division regarding possible prostitution in the South Hills area.

Police are charging a Whitehall Borough woman with prostitution and possession of an instrument of crime after a sting operation at Caste Village this past week.

Alicia Lee Jamen, 26, met a plain-clothes police officer in the parking lot of the shopping center at around 11:50 a.m. on July 16 and agreed on a price for a "service," Whitehall police Chief Donald R. Dolfi said.

At that point, other police officers who were stationed around the perimeter of Caste Village moved in on Jamen and made the arrest. They also found a "pellet-type handgun" in her vehicle, Dolfi said.

Jamen was found advertising herself on a website, according to the chief. An undercover Whitehall officer made contact with her by email and agreed to meet her at the shopping center.

"Obviously, I commend the officers who networked with other officers, received information, did their research and stayed on top of it," Dolfi said. "On these (web)sites, you'll see that it's (the language is) very vague, but obviously, we were able to make contact and carry the investigation all the way through to making the meet and safely making the arrest."
